Lady Rams Drop Game To Lady Eagles

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 59-91 to Faulkner University Thursday in SSAC action.
Mobile (7-20, 4-13) will close out the season at Loyola University Saturday at 2 pm.
Courtney Bayliss led Mobile with 16 points and 6 rebounds, Sharifa Chandler added 11 points and Daphnee Frieson added 10 points for Mobile.
Christina Hayes led Faulkner with 21 points and 7 assists, while Brittney Carter added 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Faulkner out shot Mobile 52% to 41% from the field and 81% (17-of-21) to 50% (7-of-14) from the charity stripe.
The Lady Eagles scored first on a Carter free throw 56 seconds into the game and never trailed from there. Mobile was within 21-23 with 8:13 to go after Allison Michael drained a 3-pointer, but Faulkner tallied nine-straight points to go ahead 32-21, as Katie Pavlik scored five in the run. Leticia Cuellar later hit a 3-ball for Faulkner to give them their largest lead at 16.
The second half again was all Faulkner, as the Lady Eagles went on a 21-6 run in the first 7:39 of the period to build a 28-point advantage. Faulkner led by as many as 35 in the final half.
