Men's Basketball All-SSAC Honors Released

MOBILE, Ala-- The Southern States Athletic Conference released the 2011-12 Men's Basketball All-Conference Team and awards Wednesday, and the Rams earned several awards.

Antonio Hester was named SSAC Newcomer of the Year, and was joined on the All-Conference Team by Mobile, Ala., native Ji Kimbrough. Hester led the NAIA in field goal percentage at .669 and was 19th in total rebounds with 249 and 22nd in total blocks at 44. He also led Mobile with 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Kimbrough averaged 14.3 points per contest, led the team with 32 steals and was 2nd with 60 assists.

Cody Scott and Jonathan Tinch earned spots on the SSAC All-Freshman Team. Scott appeared in all 29 games for the Rams, averaging 12.7 minutes, 4.7 points and 2.5 boards. Tinch appeared in 26 games, averaging 4.3 points and collecting 27 steals.

Tyler Cole was the team's Musco Lighting Champion of Character honoree, while Marcus Polnett and Christian Salinas earned were named to the All-Academic Team.
