Rams Baseball Splits Pair At Thomas University

THOMASVILLE, Ga-- The University of Mobile baseball team split a non-conference twinbill at Thomas University Wednesday, winning game one 8-5, and falling 3-4 in the finale in a pair of 7 inning games.
Mobile (4-11) hosts Belhaven for a 3-game series this weekend, beginning with a single game Friday at 2 pm.
Drew Esslinger grabbed the win for the Rams with 2 innings of 2-hit shutout relief in the opener.
Ryan Parazine and Ryan Waltman each finished with 3 hits, while John Soutullo went 2-for-3 and Ryne Phillips drove in a pair.
In the final game, Mobile held a 3-0 lead heading into the final inning, but saw Thomas put up four runs to take the game. Neal Hunter got the win with 1 innings of 2-strikeout shutout relief, while Shane Ikner was tagged with the loss after giving up 2 runs on 4 hits in relief work.
At the dish, Braxton Hamil went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, Josh Blaylock went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI and Justin Beck finished 2-for-3. The rest of the lineup went hitless at the plate.
Alex Williams and Hugh Russell Lee each drove in a pair for Thomas.
