Rams Sweep Doubleheader From #15 Belhaven

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball swept a doubleheader from 15th-ranked Belhaven Friday, taking the 7-inning opener 6-4 and blanking the Blazers 5-0 in the finale.
Mobile (6-11, 3-5) and Belhaven (15-7, 4-4) will finish the series with a single game Saturday at 1.
In the opener, Ryan Waltman finished 1-for-4 with 5 RBI and a 5th-inning grand slam. Ryan Parazine finished 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and Braxton Hamil drew 3 walks and had a RBI-triple.
Michael King got the win after giving up 4 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings, while Josh Blaylock worked 1.1 perfect innings of relief to get the save.
Belhaven led 2-1 after four innings, then two walks and a single in the bottom of the 5th set the stage for Waltman's grand slam. After a 2-run homer from Belhaven in the 6th, Hamil roped his RBI-triple in the 6th.
Ryan Hines dominated the Blazer bats in the finale to grab the win. The lefty threw 103 pitches while working 8 innings of 2-hit shutout ball. He struck out 6 and walked 4.
Ryan Parazine finished 2-for-4 with 3 RBI, Hamil went 2-for-4, Phillips went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and Waltman finished 2-for-4 with a solo homerun.
Mobile started the scoring after two quick outs in the 3rd when Parazine doubled home Blaylock and John Soutullo. Parazine added a RBI-triple in the 5th and Waltman homered in the 8th.
