Men's Golf Places 2nd In Lookout Mountain

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga-- The University of Mobile men's golf team placed 2nd at the 2012 Reeder Cup Tuesday.

The Rams fired a 71-over 631 (313, 318) at the Par-70 Lookout Mountain Golf Club. LaGrange College won the tournament with a +56 616 (310, 306). Host Covenant College finished 3rd with a 73-over 633 (321, 312).

Zach Day led Mobile and finished 2nd among all individual golfers after carding a 13-over 153 (75, 78). Day finished behind LaGrange's Hudson Keener, who took home top honors with a 6-over 146 (72, 74).

Patrick Kelley and Brent Hill tied for 9th for the Rams after shooting +20 160. Kelley shot a 77 and 83 in the two rounds, while Hill followed an opening-round 82 with an 8-over 78 on the final day.

Josh Ball tied for 14th after carding a 21-over 161 (79, 82) and Laile Stagner came in at No. 20 with a +27 167 (87, 80).

Mobile will return to action April 23-25 at the 2012 SSAC Championships. The tournament will be played at The Oaks Golf Club in Pass Christian, Miss.
