Lady Rams Win 7-2 At SSAC Tournament

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile defeated Emmanuel College 7-2 Thursday evening at the 2012 SSAC Women's Tennis Tournament.

The Lady Rams (8-5) will advance to battle top-seeded Auburn University-Montgomery Friday, April 20 at 4 pm.

Mobile took 2-of-3 doubles matches and then swept the No. 1-5 singles matches.

Stephanie Tomita and Marcela Abrantes pulled out an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and Cynthia Summersgill and Noelle Dew won 9-8 (7-2) at No. 3 doubles.

Singles action was equally competitive. Emily Kolakoski beat Rachel Gregory 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 at No. 5 singles, Treya Smith won 7-6, 7-6 at No. 4 singles and Tomita was victorious 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) at the top singles spot.
