PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished 7th at the 2012 SSAC Championship.
The three-round tournament was held at the Par-72, 6,885-yard Oaks Golf Club. Mobile carded a 96-over 960 (327, 305, 328) to finish 47 strokes behind champion Lee University, which shot a 49-over 913 (303, 310, 300).
Mobile's second-round 305 was the second best score of that round and 4th-best score of any round. Shorter finished 2nd with a 57-over 921 and William Carey finished 3rd at +61 925.
The Rams' Zach Day finished tied for 3rd individually with a 7-over 223 (73, 70, 80). Day's 70 in round two tied for the best score in any round by any golfer. William Carey's Nic Ishee shot a 4-under 212 (70, 70, 72) to win the individual title and Shorter's Patric Sundlof placed 2nd at +4 220.
Brent Hill finished tied for 26th at 26-over 242 (83, 78, 81), Laile Stagner shot a +28 244 (86, 81, 77), Josh Ball carded a 38-over 254 (85, 79, 90) and Patrick Kelley finished 39th at +41 257 (88, 78, 91).
