MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team has inked Baker High School standout Brandon Grant for 2012-13.
"Brandon is an outstanding shooter that plays with a lot of energy," UMobile Head Coach Joe Niland said. "We feel that once he adjusts to the college game he can be a real asset to our program."
The 6-3 wing was a three-year letter-winner at Baker, where he helped lead the school to a 78-20 record in that time. He finished with 1,035 career points, 350 rebounds, 112 steals and 104 assists. He also knocked down 174 3-pointers during his prep career.
During his junior year, Grant averaged 13.2 points per game and 4.6 rebounds, and was named Press-Register Honorable Mention and Baker's Co-Offensive Player of the Year. He was also tabbed to start in the Alabama North/South All-Star Game.
Last year he shot 46% from 3-point range on route to averaging 14 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest. He also chipped in with 53 steals and 46 assists. More awards poured in for Grant, as he was named Press-Register 2nd-Team, 6A All-County and Baker's Co-Offensive Player of the Year.
