MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile Volleyball Team is excited to announce the incoming 2012 Varsity class. The newcomers include two setters, four versatile hitters, and three defensive players.
Alex Beaver, a 5’9 setter from Friendswood, Texas, is experienced in the fast offense the Campbell’s love to run. She has a keen ability to connect with hitters with impressive timing and location of the ball.
Kaitlin Vail, a 5’10 setter, will be joining the Rams from our neighbors to the North. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Kaitlin brings the ability to run a 5-1 or 6-2 offense. She hits a hard ball and reads exceptionally on defense. With a good understanding of the offense, Kaitlin will adapt quickly into this new system.
Bailey Nations is a terminating outside hitter who joins the team from Peoria, Arizona. She is a 5’10 outside hitter that does a great job getting on top of the ball. Bailey’s style of play fits well into the fast offense.
Caroline Ennis hails from Gulf Breeze, Florida where she was showered with accolades during her volleyball career. Her 5’10 frame will provide some versatility as a middle blocker and outside hitter. As an incredibly hard worker, Caroline is expected to adjust quickly to the college game.
Cayce May, another Florida resident, joins the team from Lynn Haven, Florida. As a member of a highly successful high school program, Cayce, a 5’9 outside hitter/defensive specialist, she is technically sound to play six rotations. As a Ram, she is expected to compete for the libero position or a hitting spot as an outside.
Rachel Barber, though one of the shortest additions to the team, is by no means the least. A 5’4 defensive player from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rachel has solid ball control and an aggressive style of play that puts her in position to compete for a back row job.
Tesia Graham joins the team from Warren, Michigan. She has versatility and experience as a middle blocker, outside hitter, and defensive player. At only 5’8, Tesia is a natural high jumper and looks to compete for front row or back row positions.
Nicole Armstrong played her high school ball at Hoover High School and lives in Trussville, Alabama. Though she hit for her high school team, the Campbell’s were impressed with her defensive movement and see her battling for the libero jersey. At 5’10, she brings great size to the back row, and Nicole will amplify the level of play with her energetic play and vocal personality.
Caroline White rounds out the varsity roster as a 5’7 defensive player from Hoover, Alabama. Another energetic player, Caroline moves extremely well and is very vocal on the court. She has the potential to battle for a back row position, and as a natural leader, she will be an immediate impact to the team.
These players join the returning 8 from the 2011 season to make for a young, but incredibly talented group.
