UMobile Men's Soccer Rolls 9-0 In Opener

MOBILE, Ala-- The 12th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team opened the 2012 season with a bang Friday, trouncing visiting Florida Memorial University 9-0.
Mobile (1-0) next plays host to Northwood University Sept. 1 at 7 pm.
The Rams finished with an 11-3 edge in shots on target, and put nine of those in the back of the net. In goal, Xavier Audergon finished with a three-save shutout.
Newcomer Gaetan Massiah led the way with 4 goals and 1 assist, Alvaro Pichardo added 2 goals and 2 assists, Sam Blackburn finished with 1 goal and 2 assists and Stephen Okai added 3 assists to the Rams' attack.
Mobile scored twice in the first 15 minutes to set the tone, with Pierre Mangold scoring first off an assist from Okai, and Massiah answering just two minutes later in the 15th minute.
After taking a 3-0 lead into the half, the Rams poured on six goals in the final 45 minutes, including three in the first 10 minutes of the final period.
Massiah scored his third goal in the 49th minute, Pichardo tacked on a goal in the 51st minute and Blackburn flicked the ball over the goalkeeper's head in the 55th minute to make it 6-0.
