UMobile Volleyball Defeats Emmanuel 3-1

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team picked up a Southern States Athletic Conference victory Saturday, defeating visiting Emmanuel College 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-20).
Mobile (14-6, 3-3) will host rival Spring Hill College Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 7:30 pm.
Disah Kolassiba led the Lady Rams with 11 kills and 6 blocks, while Bailey Nations added 10 kills. Cayce May paced the team with 18 digs, while Kiara Gay finished with 7 kills and 11 digs for UMobile. Reagin Boggs had 36 assists and Leah Lovelace served up six of the team's 11 aces. Sara Van Wert hit .421 and finished with 9 kills.
In the opening set, the Lady Rams used an 8-0 run to knot the set at 21-21, but Emmanuel took four of the final six points to take the set.
The second set was back-and-forth early until Mobile broke a 14-14 tie with a 3-0 spurt, and then a 4-0 run to stretch an 18-16 lead to 22-16. After Emmanuel cut it to 24-21 late, a Kolassiba kill finished it off and tied the match at 1-1.
Emmanuel led 19-17 in the third set, but Mobile took the final eight points with Lovelace at the service line for seven of those. She served up three aces in the run.
Mobile again trailed 16-12 in the final set, before a 4-0 run behind Gay's serving tied it up. Then, trailing 19-18, Mobile took five-straight and seven of the final eight, with Kolassiba and Nations each picking up a pair of kills.
