Lady Rams Fall In Four To West Florida

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team dropped a non-conference game to NCAA-II University of West Florida 1-3 (21-25, 25-18, 11-25, 18-25) at Pharr Gym Saturday.

Mobile (16-8) visits Dillard and SUNO Wednesday at 3 and 6 pm.

Kiara Gay led Mobile with 14 kills, while Bailey Nations added 10 kills. Sara Van Wert added 7 kills and 4 blocks, while hitting a team-best .214. Reagin Boggs had 32 assists and Cayce May led with 11 digs.

West Florida was led by 14 kills from Jenny Bellairs and 13 digs from Colleen Starrs.

The Lady Argos out hit Mobile .292 to .092 and held a 10-6 edge in team blocks.

UMobile held an 18-16 lead on a kill from Gay, but West Florida took the next seven points to take control of the set. Haley Shackelford had four straight kills in the run.

The Lady Rams jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the second set and never trailed, though West Florida tried to come back late. Holding a 16-15 lead, Mobile used a 4-0 run to regain control, with three UWF errors aiding the run.

The last two sets were all Lady Argos. West Florida out hit Mobile .310 to -.152 in the third set and .400 to .037 in the final set.
