Naissim Ayadi Named NAIA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- The University of Mobile's Naissim Ayadi has been named the NAIA National Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Ayadi was selected based on his performance Oct. 1-7, and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Ayadi, a sophomore midfielder from Paris, France, tallied 3 goals and 3 assists in two Southern States Athletic Conference victories on the week, finishing with a team high 9 points.

The week started when the 23rd-ranked Rams blasted 3rd-ranked Auburn-Montgomery 6-2, and Ayadi was a big reason for that, totaling 2 goals and 2 assists in the victory. His first goal came in the 19th minute when he beat the goalkeeper to the ball at the top of the 18-yard box and flicked it over the keeper into the back of the net. He then picked up an assist on the second goal of the half on a give-and-go.

Ayadi then helped cement the win, picking up an assist and goal to stretch a 3-2 lead to a 5-2 lead in the final seven minutes.

The Rams then closed out the week with a 6-1 thrashing of visiting Faulkner, and Ayadi tallied 1 goal and 1 assist in the game. Ayadi's goal came in the 16th minute when he rocketed a shot in from distance, and he picked up an assist on an Alvaro Pichardo tally in the final period.

Ayadi has 9 goals and 5 assists on the season for 23 points. The Rams next visit Emmanuel Oct. 11 at 7 pm and Brewton-Parker Oct. 13 at 3 pm.
