Lady Rams Drop Five-Set SSAC Match At Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile volleyball team dropped a tough, five-set SSAC match at Belhaven University Tuesday, falling 2-3 (25-23, 25-27, 14-25, 27-25, 13-15).

Mobile (20-9, 7-5) will play a pair of non-conference matches in New Orleans, La., Saturday. They will start the day with an 11 am match against Union.

Disah Kolassiba led the Lady Rams with 15 kills and 5 blocks, while Bailey Nations and Kiara Gay added 12 kills and Sara Van Wert finished with 10 kills for Mobile.

Defensively, Cayce May led with 28 digs, Gay added 24, Nicole Armstrong had 22 and Courtney Fenwick finished with 16. Reagin Boggs finished the match with 45 assists and 16 digs.

For Belhaven, Taylor Williams led with 17 kills and Morgan Hofacker added 15 kills.

The Blazers out hit Mobile .089 to .054 for the game and finished with a 6-3 edge in service aces.

Belhaven led 24-22 in the 4th set, but Mobile got back-to-back kills from Kolassiba to stave off elimination. After trading points, a Van Wert kill and a Belhaven error gave Mobile the set and tied the match at 2-2.

The final set was close early, as a Nations kill brought Mobile within 10-9, but the Blazers took the next two to take a three-point lead. Up 12-10, back-to-back Blazer kills gave the Blazers a 14-10 lead, and Mobile could not bounce back.
