MOBILE, Ala— Following a weekend in Cleveland, TN that saw the University of Mobile volleyball team knock off ranked teams and Region XIII foes, the Lady Rams find themselves on the brink of a NAIA Top-25 ranking for the first time in school history.
In the NAIA poll, released Wednesday, the 9-2 Lady Rams entered the fray with 20 votes, only 6 behind 25th-ranked Great Falls.
“We are proud of what our girls have accomplished as only a 3rd-year program,” Assistant Coach Amber Campbell said.
While the coaches are pleased with the recognition, they are even more excited about what this could mean for bigger goals.
“This is a step in the right direction towards bigger goals,” Campbell said. “Our Ultimate goal is to make it to the NAIA National Tournament.”
The Lady Rams are in a good position to do just that. If the team stays at the top of the Region XIII rankings, they would host the regional tournament, and the winner of that gets an automatic bid to the nationals.
