Lady Rams End Season At SSAC Tournament

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team finished the season at the SSAC Tournament Thursday, falling twice in pool play action. Mobile lost to Lee University 0-3 (14-25, 21-25, 20-25) in the first match of the day and then fell 0-3 (18-25, 23-25, 20-25) to Emmanuel.
Mobile finishes the season at 24-13.
Against Lee, Kiara Gay led with 11 kills and 9 digs, while Bailey Nations added 9 kills and hit .350, and Disah Kolassiba added 7 kills with a .267 hitting percentage. Reagin Boggs had 29 assists.
Lee out hit the Lady Rams .433 to .110 and finished with an 8-2 edge in team blocks. Nicole Sumida put down 13 kills for Lee.
In the opening set, the Flames used a 15-4 run to turn a 6-4 lead into a 21-8 advantage. Lee had eight kills in the run.
The teams traded points in the early portion of the second set as Mobile built an 11-10 lead on a Kolassiba kill. From there, Lee went on a 10-3 run, aided by eight Mobile errors. The Lady Rams fought back to pull within 22-21 on a Gay kill, but the Flames responded by taking the final three points.
Mobile held an early 4-3 lead in the final set, but a 6-1 spurt by Lee gave them the lead for good. Marija Zelenovic had three kills in the spurt.
Gay led Mobile with 15 kills against Emmanuel and was the only player in double figures. Boggs had 29 assists, while Courtney Fenwick led with 10 digs.
Emmanuel out hit Mobile .275 to .125 for the match and had a 4-1 edge in service aces.
