Four Named To Capital One Academic All-District Team

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile had four student-athletes named to the Captial One Academic All-District Team for District 2 (College Division) as selected by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

Pinson, Ala., native Lindsay Taylor is an accounting major that sports a 3.90 GPA. She was one of seven honorees for District 2.

Taylor appeared in 26 matches for the Lady Rams, serving up 23 aces and finishing with 53 digs.

In women's soccer, Huntsville, Ala., native Kelsie Ruff, Auburn, Ala., native Olivia Maddox and San Antonio, Texas native Christy Lachappelle were selected. They were three of 11 chosen from the College Division of District 2. Ruff is a math major with a 4.0 GPA, Maddox is a Human Performance & Exercise Science major with a 3.48 GPA and Lachappelle is a HPES major with a 3.83 GPA.

Lachappelle leads Mobile with 18 goals, 9 assists and 45 points, while also knocking home 7 game-winners. Maddox has totaled 2 goals from her midfield position, while Ruff has 1 goal and 3 assists, while helping the defense to 10 shutouts.

The Capital One Academic All-District Award recognizes athletes holding a GPA of 3.3 or higher while at the same time making significant one-field contributions to their team.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected at a later date.
