MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 55-67 to 15th-ranked Lee University in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday at Pharr Gym.
Mobile (3-1, 1-1) hosts St. Thomas University Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 pm.
The Rams struggled offensively all game, shooting just 28% (15-53) from the floor, compared to 50% (26-52) for the Flames.
Chris Richardson led Mobile with 14 points on 6-of-16 shooting, while Kwame Beard and Dominick Brumfield added 11 points for Mobile. Julien Sargent finished with 9 points and 7 boards.
Will Barnes led the Flames with 20 points, while Chase Dunn added 16.
Mobile's lone lead came on a pair of free throws from Kevin Calloway at the 17:37 mark to put Mobile up 7-6, but Lee answered 14 seconds later, and the Rams never led again. The Rams stayed within one possession for the majority of the half, until the Flames used a 9-0 run to breakaway from a 24-23 lead at the 4:08 mark. Lee took a 33-25 lead into the half.
In the second half, the Rams could not get any closer than six (27-33 at the 19:24 mark) and Lee led by as many as 17.
