Men's Soccer NAIA Semifinal Primer

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 11th-seeded University of Mobile men's soccer team will play in its second Semifinals in three years Friday at 2:30 pm when they do battle against 7th-seed MidAmerica Nazarene. The other Semifinal game will pit No. 1 Lindsey Wilson against No. 12 Belhaven at noon.

The Championship game will take place Saturday at 3 pm in Montgomery.

The Rams are 3-3 all-time in the Semis, MidAmerica is appearing for the first time, Lindsey Wilson is 9-3 and Belhaven is 1-0-1.

Mobile and MidAmerica battled to a 2-2 double-overtime tie on Sept. 3. MidAmerica got an own goal in the 80th minute to force the tie and neither team could score in overtime.

The University of Mobile Rams (16-4-2)

Recent: Mobile is 11-1-1 in the last 13 games ... In that stretch, Mobile has outscored opponents 41-10 in that stretch ... Rams have scored more than two goals in eight of those games and allowed more than one goal only twice ... Mobile has lost only one game when they scored multiple goals (2-3 to Southern Wesleyan Sept. 28)

Leaders: Gaetan Massiah leads with 38 points (13 goals and 12 assists) ... Naissim Ayadi has 30 points (12 goals and 6 assists) ... Stephen Okai has 27 points (9 goals and 9 assists) ... Xavier Audergon has made 16 saves in the last three games

Nationals: Rams are 23-14-3 all-time at the National Championships ... This is Mobile's 16th appearance ... Won it all in 2002 with a 2-1 win over Park University


MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers (13-1-9)

Recent: Pioneers are 7-1-5 in last 13 games ... MNU has outscored opponents 20-7 in that stretch ... They have scored more than two goals twice in that stretch and allowed more than one goal only once in that stretch ... Lone loss was a 1-0 loss to Baker Oct. 9

Leaders: Trent Remmich leads with 24 points (11 goals and 2 assists) and Eddie Morales has 21 points (8 goals and 5 assists)

Nationals: Pioneers are 3-2-1 in three trips at Nationals ... They only advanced to the final site due to an Oklahoma Baptist forfeit
