Smith And Hartley Honored By GCAC

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the GCAC Players of the Week awards for the week ending April 4th and the University of Mobile had a pair of athletes honored.
 

Rachel Hartley was named the GCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week and Cameron Smith was named the GCAC Men's Golfer of the Week.
 

Hartley helped key the Lady Rams' 5-4 victory over NCAA II opponent University of Montevallo in Mobile's only match on the week. The Lady Rams improved to 11-3 with the victory. Hartley and Zelie Pfeiffer teamed up for a convincing 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, and then Hartley clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles.
 

Smith, the team captain for the UM men's golf team, was rewarded for his performance at the University of North Alabama Spring Classic.

The Rams finished 12th as a team and Smith led Mobile with a 9-over 153 (78, 75) to finish in a tie for 34th individually in a loaded field.
