Rams Sign Local Product

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team announced the signing of Josh Blaylock for the 2011 season.

Blaylock is currently at Bishop State Community College and prepped at Satsuma High School.

He is a dual threat that saw 140 at bats in 2009 and logged 47.2 innings on the mound. He batted .407 with 26 RBI, 29 runs scored and a .419 on base percentage. On the mound, Blaylock fanned 51 batters in 47.2 innings of work, while allowing only 1 home run to opposing batters.

He will likely continue that dual work at Mobile.

"We are not sure where he will play in the field, but he will definitely be an arm for us," Mobile Head Coach Mike Jacobs said. "He is an upper-80's guy who can run it up there pretty good."

"He's a local good and a really good player, we are excited to have him as our first signee for 2011."
