MARIETTA, Ga-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling at NAIA No. 23 Life University 90-81 Monday evening.
Boasting a potent scorer in Tay Barber, Life instead got a balanced offensive output, with five different guys scoring in double-figures. Greg Brown led the way with 18 points.
Mobile was led by 27 points and 11 rebounds from Donte Walker on 12-of-17 shooting from the floor, while Robert Golston posted 16 points and 10 boards. McGill-Toolen product Ji Kimbrough put up 12 points for Mobile.
Life finished with a 26-of-31 effort from the charity stripe, while Mobile hit only 16 of their 26 free throw attempts. The Rams controlled the boards with a 49-33 advantage, but had 34 turnovers in the game, while Life only turned the ball over 19 times.
Mobile (3-1) hosts Auburn University-Montgomery Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7 pm.
