CLEVELAND, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished in 10th place out of 13 teams at the Derrall Foreman Invitational Saturday.
The Rams shaved 11 strokes off their round one score of 308, carding a 9-over 297 in the final round to finish at 605 for the event. University of North Alabama won the event with a 5-under 571. They beat out Delta State by one stroke
Cameron Smith, Alejandro Salcedo and Jacob Morgan all shot 7-over 151's to tie for 32nd to lead the Rams. Smith shot a 76 and 75, Salcedo carded a 75 and 76, and Morgan finished with a 78 and 73.
Leland Dunning finished in 37th place with a 8-over 152 (79, 73) and Tyson Lynn carded a 11-over 155 (79, 76).
Day 1: Mobile Tied for 9th After Round 1
CLEVELAND, Miss--- The University of Mobile men's golf team is in 9th place after the opening round of the Derrall Foreman Invitational Friday. The tournament is hosted by Delta State University and will finish up Saturday with the second and final round at the Cleveland Country Club.
University of North Alabama and Lambuth are co-leaders after round 1, carding 1-under 287's on the par-72 course.
The University of Mobile Rams are tied with Lindenwood in 9th place after carding an opening-round 20-over 308. Alejandro Salcedo used a 35 on the front 9 to pace the Rams with a 3-over 75 on day one.
Cameron Smith carded a 76, Jacob Morgan finished the first 18 with a +6 78, and Tyson Lynn and Leland Dunning both shot 79 for Mobile.
There are 13 teams and 72 individual golfers in the tournament.
