Rams Even Record With 1-0 Win

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 9th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season Saturday, defeating Marian University 1-0 on the final day of the Capital City Classic at Auburn University-Montgomery.

The Rams dominated the game, out-shooting the Knights of Marian 23-1, including a 15-0 edge in shots on goal. With that stellar defensive effort, the Rams needed only one of those 23 shots to find the back of the net, and that happened just 6 minutes into play.

In the 6th minute, Mobile's Chris Dillon scored the game-winner, with Jack St. Hilaire picking up the assist on the play.

Mobile goal keeper Jason Williams picked up the shutout victory, while Marian's James Dulhanty was the tough-luck loser, collecting 14 saves in the losing effort.

Mobile (1-1) next plays at home Friday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 pm against Concordia (Calif.) in the University of Mobile Kick-Off Classic. Azusa Pacific will battle Notre Dame College at 5 pm on that first day of tournament action.
