Mobile Moves To 2-0 On Season

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 62-43 win over Talladega College at Pharr Gym in the Port City Tip-Off Classic.
Gerica Johnson finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Mobile, while Alice Honnery added 15 points and 14 boards. Adrienne Mackay finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the Lady Rams.
Johnson scored 13 of her points in the first half and Mobile found itself up 21-9 at the 7:53 mark. But, Talladega went on a 13-2 run over the next 7:09 and went into the break only down 26-22.
Talladega took its first lead of the game in the second half when they took a 29-28 lead at the 15:32 mark. The Lady Rams answered by scoring the next 7 points to retake a 6-point lead. A bucket from Johnson put Mobile up 10 with 6:48 remaining, and they kept a double-digit lead for the rest of the game. Mobile out-shot Talladega 38% to 25% for the game.
Mobile (2-0) hosts Auburn University-Montgomery Monday, Nov. 2 at 5:30 pm.
