Lady Rams Finish 3rd At Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished in a three-way tie for 3rd place at the Birmingham Southern Shootout Monday.
 
The Lady Rams carded a 75-over 635 (318, 317) to tie with Lee University and Birmingham Southern. West Florida won the event with a 34-over 594 (300, 294).
 
Leading the way for Mobile was Maegan Rice, who carded a 2nd-round even-par 70 to finish at 5-over 145 for the tournament and finish 2nd individually.

Abbie Harris finished 22nd after shooting +22 162 (76, 86). Taylor Kirby shot 23-over 163 (83, 80) and Taylor Lee finished at +25 165 (84, 81).
 
Berry College's Jayne Curtis won the tournament with a 2-over 142 (73, 69). Jackson State finished 2nd with a 69-over 629 (314, 315).
 
The tournament was held at Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham.
 
Round 1: Mobile Tied For 4th
 
BIRMINGHAM, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team is in a tie for 4th place after round 1 of the Birmingham Southern Shootout Sunday.
 
University of West Florida is in 1st place after shooting an opening-round 300, while the Lady Rams are 18 strokes back with a 38-over 318. Mobile is tied with Barry College. Birmingham Southern and Jackson State are No. 2 and 3 in the field.
 
Maegan Rice leads the Lady Rams with a 5-over 75, while Abbie Harris used 38's on the front and back nine to card a 76. Taylor Kirby shot an 83, and Taylor Lee finished with an 84 in round 1. Rice is tied for 5th, while Harris is tied for 9th individually.
 
West Florida's Bhavna Shetty and Birmingham Southern's Ashley Lovell are tied for 1st after carding opening-round 71's.
