2008 All-GCAC Volleyball Team

 

HATTIESBURG, Miss—The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the 2008 Volleyball All-Conference Team, and the University of Mobile once again racked up honors.
 
Whitney Knight was named GCAC Player of the Year for the second-straight year and was joined on the team by Paula Stilkey, Nicole Stokes, Syretta Baldwin and DeCreisha Arrington. Head Coach Jon Campbell was named GCAC Coach of the Year for the third straight year.
 
Baldwin is a four-time selection, while Knight, Stilkey and Stokes are on the team for the third straight year.
Knight posted 13 double-doubles for the Lady Rams and led the team with 408 kills and 337 digs, while attacking .280. Stilkey, meanwhile proved to be a versatile threat from her middle blocker position, racking up 293 kills on a .304 attack percentage, 56 aces, 254 digs and a team-high 112 blocks.
 
Stokes, a McGill-Toolen product, led the Lady Rams with 755 assists, while adding 45 aces and 246 digs. The junior finished with eight double-doubles. Baldwin, a senior, hit .279 for Mobile, while racking up 239 kills. She added 81 blocks for the 32-3 Lady Rams.
 
Arrington, a sophomore from Arcadia, Fla, added an imposing presence in the middle for the Lady Rams. She hit a team-high .339 to pound out 238 kills, while adding 78 blocks.
 

The Lady Rams return to action Saturday, Nov. 22 when they host Webber International for a 2008 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round match.
