Rice Named GCAC Women's Golfer Of The Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- Maegan Rice was named the GCAC Women's Golfer of the Week for the week ending May 2 as announced by the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Monday.

The senior from Florence, Ala., carded a 7-over 151 (78, 73) at the NAIA Unaffiliated Qualifier in Columbus, Ga. to win the tournament and qualify for the 2010 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships for the 4th-straight year.

The 16th Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championships will take place May 25-28 at Meadowbrook Municipal Golf Course in Rapid City, S.D.

Rice posted the best score in each round of the tournament and won by eight strokes.
