MOBILE,Ala- Whitney Knight and Paula Stilkey were named to the 2008 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball All-America Teams by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Monday afternoon.
Knight was named a 3rd-Team All-American one year after receiving honorable mention status, while Stilkey was named Honorable Mention All-American after the Lady Rams finished the season 34-5 and advanced to the NAIA National Championships for the second straight year.
Knight, a junior outside hitter, led the Lady Rams with 448 kills, 62 aces and 365 digs. She averaged 3.25 kills and 2.64 digs per game, while attacking .264. Knight posted 13 double-doubles on the season with highs of 23 kills and 24 digs.
Stilkey provided an all-around presence in the middle for the Lady Rams. The Union, KY native attacked .288 with 319 kills, 56 aces, 276 digs and a team-high 132 blocks. Stilkey finished with 5 double-doubles with highs of 15 kills, 16 digs and 8 blocks.
