Lady Rams Making 6th-Straight Trip To Nationals

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The 21st-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team received the host bid to the 30th Annual NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The tournament will take place May 18-22 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center. The Lady Rams will be joining the elite field for the 6th-straight year and 17th time overall. There are 24 teams in the field, with six-time defending National Champion Auburn Montgomery leading the field.

The Lady Rams are 17-5 on the season and fell in the semifinals of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. Mobile beat out Spring Hill College for the host bid. Fellow GCAC member Xavier University-Louisiana is also in the field.

Only four teams in the field have a national championship. AUM has 10, Brenau has two, and both Mobile and Northwood have one.

The tournament brackets will be released Tuesday, May 11.
