MOBILE, Ala— The University of Mobile’s Paula Stilkey, Whitney Knight, Amber Presnell and Syretta Baldwin were named 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes as released by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
The NAIA honored 306 volleyball players spanning 135 schools. Each recipient must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and be a junior or above academically.
Presnell received the honor for the second straight year, while the others are first-time winners.
AVCA Selects All-Region Teams
MOBILE, Ala—The American Volleyball Coaches Association released their NAIA All-Region Teams and several Lady Rams were honored.
Jon Campbell was named Coach of the Year and Whitney Knight was named Player of the Year for the Mid-South Region. Joining Knight on the Mid-South team are Paula Stilkey and DeCreisha Arrington (Honorable Mention).
Knight is a three-time member of the team, while the others are first-time selections. Knight led the Lady Rams with 448 kills and 365 digs, while Stilkey added 319 kills, 276 digs and 132 blocks. In her first year at Mobile, Arrington attacked .330 and finished with 271 kills and 90 blocks.
