UMobile Volleyball Named NAIA Scholar Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The University of Mobile volleyball team was named a 2009-10 NAIA Scholar Team, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Tuesday.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average must include all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible.
A record total of 857 teams received the honor, and 14% of those schools had a 3.5 or higher grade point average.
The Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team is the 2009-10 NAIA Scholar-Team of the Year, after posting a 3.82 grade point average.
The UMobile volleyball team posted a 3.16 grade point average to make 2009-10 a successful year on and off the court, as Mobile advanced to the NAIA National Championships for the third consecutive year.
The Lady Rams will begin the 2010 season Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 pm at home against rival Spring Hill College.
