Women's Cross Country Season-Opener

CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team finished 9th at the Mississippi College Season Opener Wednesday night at the Choctaw Trails. The Lady Ram runners finished 2nd among Southern States Athletic Conference teams in the meet.

Newcomer Allie Wheeler paced Mobile in the 4K course with a 16th place finish and a time of 17:46. Joanna Canning came in at 29th with a time of 18:55, Chynna Lee finished at 21:39, Kristen Jones finished at 23:13 and Tiffany Tindall finished with a time of 26:41.

"It was a tough meet and I was very proud of the effort that my girls put forth during this opening meet," Head Coach Alastair Stevenson said. "It was also great to see Richterica Ford return to racing after a lengthy spell out due to sickness."
