Lady Rams Blast Brenau 5-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team rolled past Brenau University 5-0 on day one of the Capital City Classic at Auburn University-Montgomery Friday.
The Lady Rams out shot Brenau 21-4, including a 17-2 edge in the first half. In that opening frame, Mobile put 14 shots on target and scored three times.
Mobile put the pressure on from the start, putting six shots on goal in the first six minutes, before Missy Stovall opened the scoring in the 11th minute off an assist from Anna Maddox.
Christy Lachappelle and Mary Lippa then added unassisted goals in the first half, scoring in the 25th and 29th minutes, respectively.
The game's final 45 minutes saw Mobile take only four shots, but the team still tallied a pair of goals. Stovall assisted Lachappelle in the 46th minute, and then Stovall capped the scoring three minutes later off an assist from Madison Rumore.
Lorna Brownlie got the start in goal for Mobile and made one save in 53 minutes of action. Samantha Bird and Amanda Kohn also saw action in goal for the Lady Rams.
Mobile (2-1-1) will face Embry-Riddle Saturday at 10 am on the final day of the Capital City Classic in Montgomery.
