JACKSON, Miss--- The University of Mobile men's soccer team extended its season for at least one more game by defeating No. 23 Belhaven College 2-1 in overtime in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals Friday.
Mobile (7-10) will play the winner of tonight's LSU-Shreveport/William Carey matchup Monday in the GCAC Championship game.
The Rams avenged a 1-0 overtime loss at Belhaven earlier this season by controlling the tempo with a 22-12 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in shots on target. Mobile also got four more corner kicks than Belhaven.
Both teams battled through 69 minutes of scoreless soccer before sub Henrique Bertoli came in and gave the Rams a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute with the assist going to Sam Blackburn.
Belhaven answered back with just under ten minutes remaining to force overtime when Matt Clifton tallied a goal for the Blazers.
Then, 6:56 into overtime, Bertoli notched his second goal of the game to send the Rams to the finals.
