Lady Rams Fall To Georgetown College

CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The University of Mobile volleyball team fell 0-3 (18-25, 23-25, 24-26) to 26th-ranked Georgetown College Saturday in NAIA action.
Georgetown out-hit Mobile .250 to .158 overall and hit .333 in the first set and .244 in the final set.
Christa Hicks led Mobile with 11 kills, while Kelly Sherling added 8 kills for the Lady Rams. Katy McCollister led the team with 18 digs, Kaylee McGrew finished with 15 assists and Disah Kolassiba finished with 5 blocks.
Cathy Frank led Georgetown with 13 kills, Elizabeth Goodin finished with 32 assists and Kelsey Luckett added 11 kills.
Georgetown opened up a quick 7-2 lead in the opening set and never trailed, before winning 25-18.
In the second set, Mobile grabbed a 3-2 lead after back-to-back Georgetown erros and held the lead until Georgetown came back for a 21-20 lead. Mobile led 20-13, but Georgetown used a 10-0 run to regain control.
The final set was as close as you can get, with the teams trading points and nobody leading by more than two throughout. But, Mobile's last lead was 22-21 and Georgetown pulled away for the match-clinching victory.
Mobile (8-5, 2-1) visits conference foe Belhaven University Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 7 pm.
