Women's Cross Country Places 3rd In 5K Meet

CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team finished 3rd among Non-Division I teams at the Choctaw Open Saturday.

The 5K race saw the Lady Rams slot in between 2nd-place Belhaven and 4th-place Millsaps College. The Lady Rams turned in a time of 1:59:40.38 and 81 points. Belhaven edged out Mobile by only four points for the 2nd slot.

Allie Wheeler continued her dominance for Mobile by finishing in 8th place with a time of 21:47.43. She was the 2nd highest finisher from the SSAC, with Belhaven's Hannah Reese finishing 3rd at 20:49.69.

Joanna Canning finished 12th for the Lady Rams by turning in a time of 22:13.08, while Kristen Jones and Chynna Lee finished 21st and 22nd, respectively. Jones finished at 24:38.39, while Lee finished at 24:42.59.

Tiffany Tindall finished in 25th place for Mobile with a time of 26:18.89.
