Pair Of UMobile Soccer Players Earn SSAC Honors

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile had a pair of athletes named OnePath Systems SSAC Players of the Week Monday by the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Missy Stovall was named Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Jason Williams was tabbed Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Williams and the Rams capped the week by shutting out SSAC West Division foe Faulkner University 4-0. Williams made 4 saves in the game, including 3 in the opening half, while it was still scoreless.

Mobile (9-2-2, 1-0-1) is ranked 11th in the NAIA Top-25 and will host 17th-ranked William Carey University Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 pm.

Stovall, meanwhile, tallied 3 goals in a pair of games on the week as Mobile defeated conference foes Belhaven and Faulkner by 3-0 scores. The San Antonio, Texas native scored the game-winner in each, and produced two goals against Faulkner.

The 19th-ranked Lady Rams (8-4-1, 2-0) host No. 6 William Carey (8-2-3, 0-0-1) Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 5 pm.
