2009 Women's Soccer All-GCAC Squad Released

HATTIESBURG, Miss--- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced the 2009 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams today, and the University of Mobile had seven players honored.

 

Anna Maddox (GK), Missy Stovall (FWD), Christy Lachappelle (FWD), Terri McCreadie (MF) and Ashley Lachappelle (DEF) were all named 1st-Team All-Conference. Fourteen student-athletes were named to the 1st-Team squad, while Mobile and William Carey both had five players honored.
 
Maddox, a junior from Auburn, Ala., is a 3-time all-conference selection and was named GCAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. She has started 16 games in goal for Mobile, racking up 84 saves and recording 3 shutouts. Stovall, a freshman from San Antonio, Texas, leads Mobile with 15 goals on the season. She also has 2 assists to give her 32 points.
 
Christy Lachappelle, a freshman from San Antonio, Texas, has 7 goals and 6 assists for the Lady Rams. She has put 62% of her shots on target. McCreadie, a senior from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, is a four-time All-GCAC selection. The two-time All-American has 2 goals and 4 assists for the Lady Rams.
 
Ashley Lachappelle, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, has started all 18 games for Mobile and found time to collect 2 assists. She picked up her first-career goal on a corner kick to beat Nova Southeastern.
 
Olivia Maddox (MF) and Danielle Byrd (DEF) earned 2nd-Team All-GCAC honors for Mobile. Maddox, a freshman from Auburn, Ala., has played in all 18 games for Mobile. Byrd, a senior from Flagstaff, Ariz., is a two-time All-GCAC selection after starting 16 games for Mobile. Mobile's defense held opponents to 1 goal or less in eight games.
