MOBILE, Ala-- The 8th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team defeat defending SSAC Champion Lee University 2-1 in the opening round of the SSAC Tournament Saturday.
Mobile (13-3-2) advances to the rest of the SSAC Tournament, which will take place Nov. 11-13 in Gulfport, Miss.
Lee actually struck for a 1-0 lead in the opening half despite only 1 shot attempt. Mohamed Aden put the Flames in front in the 39th minute when he went top shelf from the top of the 18-yard box.
But, the second half was the Deshorn Brown show for Mobile as the Rams rallied.
Brown, a freshman from Kingstan, Jamaica, tied the game in the 62nd minute when he snuck a corner kick inside the near post.
In the 85th minute, Marc Jospeh gave the ball to Kyle Kimbrell, who found Brown in the corner of the box. From there, Brown did the rest, cranking a shot far post past the goalkeeper.
Jason Williams made 3 saves in goal for Mobile, while Benjamin Perez finished with 6 saves for the Flames.
