UMobile Women's Basketball Falls On The Road

ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 48-69 at Shorter University Saturday afternoon.

Shorter improves to 8-0 on the season, while Mobile falls to 3-2. Mobile travels to Monticello, Ark., to face University of Arkansas-Monticello Friday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 pm.

Alice Honnery paced Mobile with 16 points and 6 blocks, while Adrienne Mackay added a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Shorter had four players in double figures, led by Shelby Farrer's 17 and Ashley Harris' 15 points.

Mobile shot 40% from the floor and Shorter shot 39%, but the Lady Rams turned the ball over 34 times, shot only 1-of-15 from 3-point range and hit only 9 free throws all game.

The Lady Hawks on the other hand, shot 8-of-20 from 3-point range, hit 17 free throws and turned the ball over only 17 times.

Shorter built an 11-point lead at the half and cruised through the final period. In the opening half, Shorter grabbed a 20-6 lead as Mobile did not crack the 10-point mark until 13:53 had run off the clock.

In the second half, Mobile pulled with 34-29 after a 3-point play from Honnery and a deuce from Mackay, but Shorter answered with a 12-2 run to take a 46-31 lead with 13:16 remaining when Harris sank a 3-ball.
