Ouachita Baptist Tops Mobile Women

MONTICELLO, Ark-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 57-73 to NCAA-II Ouachita Baptist on the final day of the Dr. Mary Jane Gilbert Classic at Arkansas-Monticello Saturday.
Adrienne Mackay led Mobile with 21 points and 8 rebounds and was named to the All-Tournament team, while Alyssa Lane added 10 points.
Jana Rastovic grabbed 12 rebounds, while Alice Honnery grabbed 9 boards and had 3 blocks. Mobile shot 38% from the field, but hit only 1-of-11 from 3-point range and turned the ball over 30 times.
Gabby Coleman led Ouachita Baptist with 18 points, while A'Laeshia Adams added 14. The Lady Tigers shot only 29% from the floor, but hit six 3-pointers, out rebounded Mobile 61-48, and had only 15 turnovers.
The Lady Tigers also held a big 29-10 edge in offensive boards.
In the opening half, the Lady Rams could not buy a bucket and fell behind 16-2 7:12 into the contest. The Lady Tigers built a 25-9 lead before Mobile finally reach double-figures in scoring with only 6:59 left in the period. Ouachita led by as much as 18 in the half and took a 42-29 lead into the break.
Mobile used a 9-0 run in the second half to cut the score to 51-45 with 8:41 left, but the Lady Tigers answered with an 11-2 run to regain control.
Mobile (4-3) visits Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday, Dec. 1 for an exhibition game. The Lady Rams host Brewton-Parker College Friday, Dec. 3 at 5 pm.
