Lady Rams Blast Previously-Unbeaten Bernau

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team blasted visiting Brenau University 72-49 at Pharr Gym Saturday afternoon.
Mobile (6-3) hosts Concordia University-Selma Friday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 pm, while the loss is the first of the year for Brenau (7-1).
Alyssa Lane led the Lady Rams with 16 points on 7-of-7 shooting, while Adrienne Mackay added 15 points and 7 boards and Morgan Crawford finished with 11 points. Morgan Melancon led the Lady Rams with 6 assists.
Raveen Crawford was the only Golden Tiger in double-figures, finishing with 11 points, while Gabby Harvey had 12 rebounds.
The Lady Rams used a dominant first half to win the game, outscoring the visitors 41-18 in the opening period, while out shooting them 49% to 19% and forcing 21 turnovers.
Mackay went 6-of-10 from the field in the opening half for Mobile, while Brenau went only 5-of-27 from the field as a team.
Mobile was actually down 9-8 after a three-point play from Harvey 5:10 into the half, but from there, Mobile went on a 25-2 run over the next 7:05 to take a 22-point lead. The Lady Rams scored eight-straight in the run before missing a shot, and then 3-pointers late in the run by Lane and Melancon helped cap the run. Mobile stretched its lead to as much as 25 in the half.
The second half was uneventful, as the Lady Rams led by 20+ the entire way.
