Rams Named To 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer All-Tournament Team

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer All-Tournament Team, and several Rams were honored. Defender Chris Dillon, midfielder Ruben Diaz and forward Deshorn Brown made the list from UMobile.

The University of Mobile men (17-4-2) co-hosted the 2010 NAIA National Championship along with the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission and advanced to the Semifinals for the 7th time in school history. Mobile ended the season with a 1-0 loss to Notre Dame College.

Fourteen student-athletes dot the honorary roster. There were two goalkeepers and four others each at back, midfielder and forward selected.

Brown finished the season with 21 goals for the Rams and tallied three goals in three games at the tournament. He opened with a pair of goals against 8th-seeded Belhaven, and then added one against 2008 champ Bethel (Tenn.).

Diaz played an active roll in the midfield for the Rams, and the two-time NAIA All-American finished the season with 5 goals and 8 assists. He saved his best for last though, tallying six points at nationals. He opened with a pair of scores versus Belhaven, and added two assists in the win over Brenau, including the game-winning feed to teammate Onesimus Ikungo with under 1 minute remaining.

Dillon, a 2009 NAIA All-American played a big role in the defensive backfield for Mobile and added 3 goals and 4 assists on the year. He tallied an assist versus Belhaven and a goal versus Bethel in tournament play.
