Mobile Women Blast Lady Hornets By 49

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team used a dominant 1st-half to cruise past visiting Concordia College-Selma 79-30 in non-conference action Friday evening at Pharr Gym.
Mobile (7-3) visits University of South Alabama Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 7 pm for an exhibition contest.
Adrienne Mackay led the Lady Rams with 18 points, Alice Honnery added 14 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks, and both Morgan Melancon and Anna Maddox chipped in 11 points apiece for Mobile.
Ciara McMillan was the Lady Hornets' sole double-digit scorer with 12 points.
In the game-changing opening half, the Lady Rams built a 52-12 lead while outshooting the visitors 51% to 11% from the floor and finishing with a 40-15 edge in rebounds. While the Lady Hornets tallied only 12 points as a team, Mackay and Honnery each finished with 10 points, while Maddox was one point shy at 9.
The game was actually tied at 2-2 after two possessions, but Mobile went on a 24-0 run to take a 24-2 lead just 7:25 into the game. Mobile continued to roll from there, grabbing a 46-9 lead before the Lady Hornets finally reached double figures with only 2:08 left on the clock.
The Lady Rams continued to cruise through the final half, with the final margin of 49-points being the largest lead of the contest.
For the game, Concordia shot only 10% from the field and finished 0-of-15 from the 3-point line, while Mobile shot 44% from the floor and hit 6-of-14 from downtown. The Lady Rams finished with a 75-46 edge on the boards and dished out 28 assists.
