Poor First Half Dooms Rams Against Tougaloo

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 49-66 at home to Tougaloo College Tuesday evening at Pharr Gym.

Mobile (7-4) will visit Life University Saturday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 pm EST in a non-conference game.

Donte Walker tallied 18 points for Mobile, but nobody else scored more than 7 for the Rams, who shot only 34% from the floor. Mobile hit only 2-of-14 from 3-point range.

Mario Luckett scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Tougaloo, while Juan Gray added 17 points and 5 assists. The Bulldogs shot 42% from the field and went 6-of-13 from 3-point range.

A lackluster opening half did the Rams in as Tougaloo grabbed a 31-15 lead, out shooting Mobile 48% to 25%. The Rams grabbed a 7-5 lead at the 15:27 mark on a bucket from Walker, but Tougaloo's defense stepped up and the Bulldogs went on a 24-5 run over the next 13:57 to grab a 29-12 lead. Mobile did not reach double figures until Spencer Duke hit a 3-pointer with 5:49 left in the half to make it a 12-19 game.

Mobile could get no closer than 15 points in the second half and Tougaloo led by as much as 24 in the final period.
