Hot Start Sends Mobile Men Past Faulkner

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team rode a hot start to a 75-50 win over SSAC West foe Faulkner University Saturday afternoon at Pharr Gym.

Mobile (11-9, 4-1) will visit Loyola University Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 pm.

Ji Kimbrough led the Rams with 16 points thanks to an 8-of-11 effort from the free throw line, Kevin Calloway and Donte Walker each chipped in 15 points and Bentley Hylton finished with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Chris Palmore led Faulkner with 12 points, followed by De Hereford's 11-point effort.

The Rams out shot Faulkner 41% to 30% from the floor, including 39% to 22% in the opening half that saw Mobile build a 37-16 lead at the break.

Mobile held a 6-4 lead with 16:53 left in the opening half, and Faulkner went cold, failing to score over the next 10:24, as the Rams built a 30-4 lead.

In the final period, the Eagles never got closer than 13 points and Mobile led by as much as 28 points in the half, 75-47.
