Rams Ride Defense To 55-51 SSAC West Win

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team improved to 5-1 in the SSAC West with a 55-51 road victory over Loyola University Thursday.

Mobile (12-9, 5-1) will visit William Carey Saturday at 7 pm.

Donte Walker led Mobile with 16 points, Spencer Duke added 13 points, Ji Kimbrough finished with 12 and Matthew Turner added 10 points and 6 rebounds inside.

Ryan Brock led Loyola with 18 points, while reigning NAIA Player of the Week Corey Gray shot only 1-of-10 from the field.

Mobile opened the game by holding the Wolfpack to 5-of-23 shooting in the first half to build a 26-19 lead at the break.

In the final half, Loyola improved to 34% shooting, but Mobile jumped to 50% shooting to close out the game.
