Alice Honnery Named All-Conference

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced the 2009-10 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team Friday, and Mobile's Alice Honnery made the squad.
There are 15 players on the honorary team. Honnery, a sophomore post player from New South Wales, Australia, averaged 9.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.66 blocks per game. Her 135 total blocks and 4.66 per game average lead the NAIA.
She set a new school record for single-season blocks and single-game blocks when she blocked 12 shots against Spring Hill. She posted a triple-double of 15 points, 12 blocks and 10 rebounds in that game.
She finished with six double-doubles on the season and had 10+ rebounds in eleven games. Her season-high for rebounds was 17 against Auburn-Montgomery, while she recorded her season-high of 19 points against SUNO.
Honnery started in all 19 games for the Lady Rams and shot 53% from the floor, while averaging 29.6 minutes per contest.
The Lady Rams finished the season 17-12 and lost in the GCAC Quarterfinals at Loyola University.
