#25 Lady Rams Drop Game In Extra Innings

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The University of Mobile dropped a 6-7 decision in 9 innings to Indiana University-Southeast Saturday.
Mobile (1-1) will head to Montgomery for the Faulkner University Tournament this weekend and will open against Truett McConnell Friday at 4:30 pm.
Haley Baker was tagged with the loss after allowing 2 earned runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings of relief. Jenna Swain picked up the win for IUS with 3 innings of 1-hit, 1-run relief.
Kaci Pribanic, Jessica Rogers and Erica Bracey finished with 2 hits apiece and Kirstyn Joiner reached base 4 times and drove in 2 runs.
IUS jumped on top with a pair of runs on 3 hits in the 1st, but they stranded three and the Lady Rams took a 5-2 lead with five runs between the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings.
Pribanic and Jessica Swanson singled home runs in the 3rd and Joiner doubled home a pair in the 4th to put Mobile ahead 4-2. Ally Scott then crossed home on a wild pitch in the 5th and Mobile went into the bottom of the 6th holding a 5-2 lead.
A single, hit-batsman, walk and error in the bottom of the 6th plated one IUS run and put runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Anne Fowler followed with a 2-run single to tie it up, before Baker relieved Kamaron Strickland to get out of the jam.
The teams traded runs in the 8th inning with Rogers and Fowler providing run-scoring hits, then Mobile went down 1-2-3 in the 9th to give IUS a chance. With one out, Rachel Mulvey singled home the winning run.
